Accessibility statement
Last updated October 2026
Spurna should be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification, or high-contrast settings. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators and a "skip to content" link.
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and labeled controls; the leaderboard and comparison tables use proper table semantics; dialogs trap and return focus and close with Escape.
- Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, interactive targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and nothing depends on color alone: every left/right score is also written as words and numbers.
- Layouts reflow down to a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling, and respect your reduced-motion setting.
- Changing a menu never moves you to another page on its own; you press a button to go.
- Every build is checked automatically with the axe accessibility engine and a color-contrast test, and we audit key pages in a real browser.
Known limitations
- The tile map of states and the district maps are visual aids. The same information is available in the lists and tables on the page, but the map shapes themselves are not described in detail.
- The bubble chart of what a member cares about is a graphic; the list of priorities and the supporting detail in the panel carry the same information as text.
- We have run our own audits but have not yet had an independent third-party accessibility audit.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on Spurna is hard or impossible for you to use, email [email protected] with the page address and what happened, and the assistive technology you use if you are comfortable sharing it. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to fix confirmed barriers promptly. If you need the information in another format, we will provide it.
